road trip

All right folks, I am not feeling very creative. We drive to Phoenix tomorrow, Vegas next week, and then Utah after that and I like to eat. Roger would prefer to drink (Pepsi would be his first choice prob.) but I like to eat. So.... what are your favorite road trip snacks?! I am currently eating a rice cake with PB and sliced banana. mmmm. yummers. When I was little apples, pretzels, and string cheese were always a staple. My mom always had a knife to cut the apple wrapped around a moist (ew, gross word... how bout....) DAMP wash cloth that washed our nasty faces off.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TREAT FOR THE CAR?!?!

I approve

Cason likes to watch Sesame Street. Yes, my 5 month old is already addicted to television. Actually, its more like, he is addicted to youtube videos of sesame street. My M.I.L. found this out when she was watching him two weeks ago while I was laying on my death bed. She pulled up a youtube video of sesame street and his eyes were glued. He has watched Baby Einstein a couple times, while I make dinner or shower or something but this was different.

This is my favorite Sesame Street video because of many educational reasons:

1. he can move to a groovy beat
2. to show that muppets and humans come in all sizes and colors
3. he will learn big words like Will.I.am
4. i love the words of the song
5. its a great start into the fashion world. (Will.I.Am., love the glasses and jacket. Can I have them?)
6. I want him to "have a dream and follow it"
7. because he can learn that he is all those words that they keep repeating...mostly... special and there is nothing he cant achieve.

oh, and this one. I have already started teaching him the dance moves.

Beautifully Historic

I cannot express how sad I am. When I heard the news about this beautifully historic building, I about cried. Not many would understand why I am so sad. I performed here many times. I sat in the benches hundreds of times and I (prentended) to conduct a choir of hundreds in this building. It stands on the corner in Provo, Utah. Which is a neighboring city to the one I grew up in for 9 years and the very city where I went to college and met Roger. Also the city where my parents met. And my sister and her husband. and many other LDS couples for that matter. Anyway, my friend put it perfectly when she said on her blog, "I'm sad my future children won't have the pleasure of attending its annual Christmas performances, but I'm sure they will have the pleasure of me telling and re-telling during visits to cougar town, 'When I was in school, there was a beautiful old building that stood on the corner riiiight over there.' "

The tabernacle was built in 1880 and now all that is left is the frame:

I feel you, Mary Kate.

For those of you who dont know...
I had a baby 5 months ago today.
Thanks to the Hollywood diet (throwing up and diarrhea for three days...leading to hospitalization) I am 2 pounds away from pre-pregnancy weight.
I was beyond ecstatic when I put on one of my favorite pair of pre-baby jeans and I could actually zip and button them even though it felt a little like this:

Then I got cocky and put on a pair of pre-marriage jeans.

oops.

not a good idea.

Needless to say, I still have work to do (mainly because I have no money to buy new jeans and maternity jeans give me that "growing room" which is all too comfortable this holiday season)  but for two seconds, I felt like I was inside the mind of one of the Olsen twins.
However, no matter how many pounds I lost, those three days were the most
miserable I have ever been.
Yes, even more than the day I gave birth.
Almost.
Ok, maybe its a tie.

House Hunting

cute little crabby

While online house hunting is super fun and all.... its annoying when your doing it in over ten different states not knowing where you are gonna end up. Pretty sure Detroit is at the bottom of my list, no offense Eminem. I am now subscribed to 15 different realty websites which means I wake up to 478 more junk emails. Oops.

Anyone done the quiz at "find your spot"? Its pretty fun.

click here to take the quiz.

Tell me what you know about Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland,  and New Mexico. I think I have done enough research on the rest.

beautiful

I was enrolled in dances classes for over 12 years but somehow I always sucked at it. Nevertheless, I still love dance. I love to move. I love to watch others do it because I know first hand how difficult it is. Also, dance touches me in a way no other art form does. I cant explain. Probably why I love this little diddy....

I saw this on RockStar Diaries. I love that blog.

the beginning

This is the beginning of my blog where I will share the things on my mind, my ideas, my comings and goings,.... my (very) simple expressions.
